This has been an amazing road trip thus far. No matter what happens in the next two games on the Southern Californian leg, nothing should tarnish what this team has accomplished on the trip. Eight wins in a row for the Blackhawks, and 7-2 victory at the HP Pavilion – the Shark’s first loss at home. Things couldn’t be any better for the ‘Hawks, and this team proved the other night in San Jose that they are the team to beat in the Western Conference.
Marian Hossa’s debut went better then expected, scoring two goals against the Sharks. Even if Hossa is still working out the kinks, the Blackhawks are a much better team with him in the lineup. A line consisting of Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and Hossa is just scary. The Anaheim Ducks will have their work cut out for them trying to contain those three along with the rest of the Blackhawks’ roster.
At home the Ducks are .500 (7-7-0). Much of their early struggles come from the combined efforts of J.S Giguere and Jonas Hiller. The only thing that is going well for Anaheim is the best mustache in all of sports on his upper-lip of George Parros. The Blackhawks should come away from this match-up with at least a point. Tomorrow in Los Angeles, on the other hand, will be a challenge.
