I was at the gm in Rockford, and wasn't impressed by Olimb. Too smail. If the Hawks were playing tough hockey they might be able to get away w/ him on a 3rd or 4th line, but they're not physical enough. Can't carry a 175 lb fwd on the same team as Kane.

Campbell contributes more than just speed, but it is a huge part of his game. Can't wait to get him back, as he'll help with the Hawks' struggling transition game.

Paging Campbell for sure! Problem is it’s a knee! They are talking brace on the knee which most definitely will slow him down. For Campbell, that’s not good. Campbell’s biggest contribution is his speed. The problem of 40 shots a game will not go away with the return of Campbell, with one leg or two legs for that matter. A more significant change or improvement in play will be needed.

Rob, thanks for the comment and the kind words. The reasoning behind Hjalmarsson's suspension - because he hit Pominville too hard - back up the notion that the injury played part in the two game ruling.

Agree that the suspension was too much and you are exactly right; if there was no concussion, no suspension. I think more should be said of how well Hossa is playing, having him on the Toews line is gonna be the best thing to watch this year. I also see some improvement in Leddy, can’t move him down now though. Once Cambell is back he may stay. Scott is slow, is Chelly available for a couple of weeks? (just kidding). Love this site!

My opinion is based on covering the Blackhawks and their prospects for two years. Leddy has improved a lot since joining the organization, but one good day a prospect camp and a decent showing in the pre-season doesn't mean he's going to be a stud. I've seen tons of defensemen rushed to the NHL before they were ready, and their development was stymied.

I appreaciate the comment, Harley. But I'll refrain from drinking the Kool-Aid.

What makes you so knowledgeable on Leddy, whereas Coach Q and his teamates seem to say the opposite? Leddy has been great from prospect camp, through training camp, as well as preseason. Sure, he's going to make a rookie error on rare occassions, but the kid is a stud, and will be a stud for the hawks many years to come. He's played very well, especially for the toughest position to learn in the NHL (maybe you just uneducated about the defenceman position). I think I'll take the opinion of Q, Keith, Seabs, Soupy, and Hammer over yours any day...he might not get the points that Soupy would over the next month, but he'll fit in just fine. At least let the kid play a few games before you start printing garbage!

I thought the rosters were cut to 23, not 22.

At any rate, if this is the case, congrats to Dowell, Leddy, and Morin.
