Not much good happened for the Blackhawks last night’s loss to Nashville except for Jonathan Toews’ highlight goal (video below) in the first period. The defense was bad, and the offense wasn’t much better. The Blackhawks had some great scoring chances throughout the game, but Dan Ellis was great all night. It’s loses like this that bring everyone back down to earth, including yours truly. I was left wondering if I was the only one who thinks Barry Trotz looks like Danny DeVito’s Penguin from Batman Retruns.
Anyway, the Blackhawks will have to get their crap together for tonight’s match-up in Pittsburgh. Sidney Crosby will be out of the line up with a groin injury. Coach Quenneville indicated after the Predators’ game that Antti Niemi could start against the Penguins.
